Route
Middlebrun Bay trailhead on Highway 587 → hike through the forest → the sand beach on Middlebrun Bay → hike toward Finlay Bay → back by the same trail
Notes
The Middlebrun Bay trail leaves Highway 587 partway down the Sibley Peninsula — a trail of 4.6 kilometres there and back. At the far end of the beach a further stretch carries on toward Finlay Bay for anyone wanting to make a longer day of it.
We walked it in September, when the forest floor was thick with mushrooms. An enthusiast friend of ours identified one kind of mushroom after another for us, most of which I would have walked straight past without her help.
